EVE Online: A Future Vision

by on Mar.30, 2011, under Games, Uncategorized

CCP Games has just released the new trailer for EVE Online.
The trailer is called Future Vision, and shows where CCP wants to take the game.
Since FanFest just ended, there’s not a whole lot more to see on Youtube, but the gist of it should be summarized in this trailer.

CCP has said to push through Incarna (walking in stations) this summer, with no release date yet confirmed.
Rumor has it that June 10th will be the release, but again, this hasn’t been confirmed.

CCP also mentioned the background nebulae are undergoing a big change, being completely redesigned from the ground up.
While this isn’t an expansion on itself, this will bring a fairly large-scaled change to the way EVE feels as a virtual world.

They will also be redesigning the turrets and their animations, which alot of PVP minded people are probably going to hate.
People have grown accustomed to recognising the turrets by their look and animation, and having them completely change looks will pose some difficulty for some.

CCP is also hinting at Dust 514, which is a console-based FPS tied into the EVE universe.
The main change for EVE Online itself, is the fact that pilots will be able to hire Dusties (ie: grunts who fight on the planets as opposed to in space) and pilots will finally be able to…
NUKE IT FROM ORBIT! (It’s the only way to be sure.)

(Old vid, but it shows you the best view of Dust 514)

That’s all I have time for today, but I’ll be sure to keep the info flowing as I get it myself. ;-)
